New Applications Engineer

Steffen Blomberg has spent his entire working life in the manufacturing industry and was first introduced to coordinate metrology in 2001 when the company he was working for in Brisbane installed a Sheffield Discovery CMM. Some 3 years later they added a Brown & Sharpe Global CMM and Steffen's role included the programmimg, fixturing and operator training on both machines.

In 2006 Steffen packed up his young family and took them to Europe in order to experience life on the other side of the world. Whilst working in Sweden as a Technical Sales Engineer for 3D Scanners he gained experience with the application of Faro portable arms and related software. He then later secured an Applications Engineer position with Hexagon Metrology near Stockholm where he was able to further hone his PC-DMIS and CMM skills.

Steffen recently returned to Brisbane with his family and approached Hi-Tech Metrology to discuss potential employment opportunities. His timing was perfect as we were actively seeking to fill the role of Applications and Sales support in Brisbane and knew, once we had spoken with Steffen, that he was perfect for the role.

With Steffen on board we can now provide our broad range of contract services to customers throughout Queensland, these services include on-site contract inspection utilising the Faro Arm, CMM and PCMM training courses, contract part programming service and more.
